Gilbertsville, PA - As A.D. Moyer Lumber, Inc. is celebrating its 70th anniversary of supplying building materials to developers, home builders, remodelers and do-it-yourselfers in Southeastern PA, 20 of its employees are marking anniversaries of 20 years or more with the company.
One might say for an independent building-materials dealer to flourish through a 70-year anniversary in the era of the big-box superstores, multiple recessions and multiple "down" housing markets is a remarkable milestone in itself. Add to that the fact that nearly half of its employees have been with the company for more than a decade each, and it arguably becomes extraordinary.
"We are proud and privileged to have an experienced and skilled staff which has always been one of this company's greatest strengths," said co-owner Terry Moyer. "Many times throughout the year our customers compliment us on our employees. As a family-owned and operated business, we know that a long-term, dedicated and well-trained staff is one of the key factors that has allowed us to reach our 70-year anniversary as a company and continue to prosper even through tough economic conditions."
Employees marking 20 years or more in 2009 include Rick Youse with 36 years; Jack Peterman and Brian Schlegel with 35 years; Bonnie Kuser with 33 years; Glenn Moyer with 30 years; Joan Bianchini with 29 years; Brian Moyer and Arline Scharneck with 27 years; Luann Zambanini with 26 years; Jeff Kovacs with 25 years; Mark Bowman and Ross Geiger with 24 years; Cory Hoffman, Dave Hughes, Brian Johnson and Chet Whisler with 23 years; Rodney Kulp, Ed Majka and Carl Yerger with 22 years; and Jeff Chaplin with 20 years.
In celebration of its 70th Anniversary, A.D. Moyer is having special sales and promotions throughout the year which will be publicized on admoyer.com as well as in regional media.
