2] Window and Door Service Technician


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responding to service requests, assessing issues, and performing repairs or installations.
  • Identifying problems with windows and doors, determining the best course of action, and executing repairs or replacements.
  • Utilizing hand and power tools, applying caulking, and installing hardware, screens, and glass.
  • Communicating effectively with customers and staff, explaining issues, and ensuring their satisfaction with the service provided, scheduling appointments.
  • Maintaining accurate records of service work performed and materials used.
  • Following all safety protocols and guidelines while completing service work.
  • Maintaining and acquiring adequate parts and tool inventory on a well-organized, maintained, and professional vehicle.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Competency: To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies:

  • Proficiency in repairing and installing various window and door types, including adjusting hardware, replacing glass, and addressing screen issues.
  • Knowledge to accurately diagnose problems with windows and doors, determine the root cause, and implement appropriate solutions.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve complex window and door issues efficiently.
  • Understanding different window and door materials, their properties, and how they interact.
  • Competency in using a variety of tools, including measuring tools, cutting tools, and specialized equipment for window and door work with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Simple math skills required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Outlook, and general computer skills
  • Capable of accurately documenting service work performed, materials used, and any issues encountered.
  • Adherence to safety protocols and guidelines when working on windows and doors, including using appropriate safety equipment and following safe work practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact professionally, clearly, and concisely with customers, colleagues, and supervisors, explain repairs, address concerns and provide updates.
  • Possess effective listening skills.
  • Ability to manage time effectively, prioritize tasks, and complete service work within the allotted timeframe and adapt quickly to change.
  • Lift, push, and/or pull up to 100 lbs.
