Gilbertsville, PA – Twin Ponds golf course recently hosted the 7th annual A.D. Moyer golf outing with over 140 participants enjoying the beautiful fall day. Though the majority of participants were contractor customers of A.D. Moyer lumber, many A.D. Moyer employees and representatives from the company’s vendors also took part.
Golfers and hackers alike lined up for the 9:00 a.m. Sunday shotgun start. Playing a modified “better ball” format, participants tested their talents for prizes awarded in the categories of closest to the pin, longest drive, and a special colored ball contest among others.
First place four-man scramble winner in the event was the Norm Jesperson group that shot a 10 under par 60 on the day. Second place was a three-way tie at 9 under 61 with the Ed Heisler, Len Rosanski, and the Mike Cross/Moyer groups.
In addition to the contest prizes awarded, dozens of door prizes were awarded including A.D. Moyer and sponsor apparel, golf supplies from Pro-Am Golf in Douglassville, gift certificates, tools, coolers, Eagles tickets, and a charcoal grille.
Over 35 sponsors, mostly vendors to A.D. Moyer, sponsored holes and donated prizes to the event. All participants received custom embroidered caps commemorating the event and feasted on a full steak dinner complete with soup, salad and vegetables from Moyer’s Meats Catering service.
A.D. Moyer employees Ross Geiger and LaVerne Henry pioneered and have organized the event each year since it’s inception.
“We are very pleased with another sell out year for our annual outing,” Geiger commented.
“Twin Ponds is an excellent course and was, once again, in great shape. The staff and management of Twin Ponds, to make an event of this size go so smoothly, are excellent and couldn’t have treated us better.”
The annual golf outing is one of several events that A.D. Moyer Lumber - with yards in Gilbertsville, Pottstown, and Douglassville - hosts each year in appreciation to the hundreds of contractors who deal with the company.
